Hafthor Julius Bjornsson, who plays the role of The Mountain in Game of Thrones has appeared on the cover of Men’s Health UK Magazine and he has also revealed his latest workout programs.
The biggest changes were that I didn’t do much cardio anymore, and I put more food into my diet. It’s just like constantly work for me: I have to eat every two hours to maintain my body mass. It is not easy. When I’m filming, I always have to have breaks to eat. I eat a lot of sweet potatoes, a lot of meat, fish, chicken, good fats like cocoa butter, almonds. I love greens, like spinach, avocado, broccoli. I eat very healthy overall — but because of my weight, I need fast carbs, easy carbs. So maybe before a training session or after a training session, I eat what I want.
He also talked about his sparring session with UFC star Conor McGregor.
I was in Ireland shooting for Game of Thrones and my friend [Icelandic UFC fighter] Gunnar Nelson was training in Dublin with Conor. I asked if I could check out a session. I knew he had a big fight coming up, so I was gentle with him.
Here are some of the photos from the magazine.
